Privacy Policy

Cadence Fuel ("we", "us", "our") is an iOS application built for endurance athletes. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account and use the app:

• Account data: name, email address, profile photo
• Body metrics: weight, height, date of birth, gender
• Training profile: sport, activity level, training goals, FTP / threshold pace
• Nutrition data: daily food logs, meal entries, custom recipes
• Planned sessions: scheduled training sessions and their attributes
• Coach/athlete links: team relationships between coaches and athletes

2. Apple HealthKit

We do not write nutrition data back to HealthKit unless you explicitly enable that feature in a future release.

3. Strava

If you connect your Strava account, Cadence Fuel requests access to your activity data. We use the following Strava data solely to calculate training load and adjust your nutrition targets:

• Activity type, date and duration
• Distance and elevation gain
• Average power output (where available)
• Average and max heart rate (where available)

Strava activity data is used in real time to compute calorie burn estimates. We do not store raw Strava activity data on our servers. Only the derived calorie and training load values are saved as part of your daily log.

You can disconnect Strava at any time from the Account section of the app. Disconnecting revokes our access and no further data will be read.

4. How we store your data

Account and nutrition data is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore, a cloud database with encryption at rest and in transit. Access is controlled by Firebase Security Rules — you can only read and write your own data.

Profile photos are stored in Firebase Storage. Authentication is managed by Firebase Authentication.

5. How we use your data

We use the data we collect exclusively to operate and improve Cadence Fuel:

• Calculate personalised daily calorie and macro targets
• Adjust targets based on planned and completed training
• Enable coaches to monitor their athletes' nutrition compliance
• Display your progress over time
• Send training-related push notifications (e.g. pre-workout fuelling reminders)

6. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes. Data is shared only in the following limited circumstances:

• With your coach: If you join a coach's team, your daily calorie intake and macro totals are visible to that coach. You can leave a team at any time.
• Service providers: We use Google Firebase (Alphabet Inc.) as our backend infrastructure. Firebase's privacy policy applies to data stored there.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

7. Push notifications

Cadence Fuel sends local and remote push notifications to support your fuelling routine — for example, pre-workout meal reminders and post-workout recovery window alerts. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) tokens are stored against your account to enable coach and team notifications. These tokens are deleted when you sign out.

8. Data retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Account section of the app, which permanently removes all your data from our servers within 30 days.

9. Children's privacy

Cadence Fuel is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
